Doctoral Hooding Ceremony

Spring 2025 Doctoral Hooding Ceremony: May 22, 2025 | 10:30 am

Doctoral candidates who have completed their degree requirements by the Ceremony Registration deadline are eligible to participate in the May Doctoral Hooding Ceremony. August, December and January candidates are permitted to attend the ceremony by emailing Doctoral Hooding. Additional information will be emailed to students who signed up for the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony.

Ticket Information

Guests attending the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony require tickets to enter the ceremony. Graduates and Advisors do not need tickets for the ceremony. Each graduate will be offered up to 6 free guest tickets starting on Tuesday, May 6. An email will be sent from Conferences and Special Events with a link to access tickets in the portal.

Contact doctoralhooding@stonybrook.edu to request additional free tickets by Thursday, May 15, 2025. Requests will be added to a waitlist, limited extra tickets are available.
