Ewuraba Annan, or Baaba (she/her), is a PhD student in Sociology at Stony Brook University. Her educational background includes an M.S. in Human Rights and a B.S. in Human Development, focusing on social justice, both from Binghamton University. Baaba’s research areas include environmental sociology, sociology of knowledge, sociology of education, and post-colonial theory. Her family hails from Ghana, West Africa, and her interest in the African diaspora and the value of non-Western knowledge and tradition are imbued by her experience as a Ghanaian-American woman.
