Subject: Campus Services Updates for Monday and Tuesday
Dear Seawolves,
I hope you are doing well and staying safe. As announced this afternoon in this campuswide message, all classes are cancelled tomorrow, Tuesday, February 24. This includes both in-person and online classes as well as scheduled in-person events.
Our facilities crews have been working around the clock to clear roadways, walkways,
and building entrances to help ensure our campus is safe and accessible. Snow cleanup
efforts in the region are also underway. Local roads are still hazardous and slippery,
so for your safety and our community’s safety, please remain on campus and avoid any travel
by car, bicycle, or scooter.
Dining Information:
- East Side and West Side dining are open today (Monday) until 8pm.
- East Side and West Side dining will be open tomorrow (Tuesday) from 9am - 8 pm.

Facilities and Services Updates:
- The Student Activities Center (SAC) will remain closed today and tomorrow (Tuesday).
- The Stony Brook Union and the Walter J. Hawrys Recreation Center are closed today and will tentatively open from 3 pm - 11 pm tomorrow (Tuesday). Hours of operation may change depending on the status of snow cleanup. Please check their respective websites or our Student Affairs Instagram tomorrow afternoon at @sbustudentaffairs for updates.
- Resident students can visit the Residential Fitness Centers today and tomorrow (Tuesday) from 7 am - noon and 6 pm - 11 pm.
- The Seawolves Pantry in the Stony Brook Union will open from 3pm - 5pm on Tuesday.
- The Central and North Reading Rooms in Melville Library are open until midnight tonight and will be open from 8:30 am - midnight on Tuesday. The Health Sciences Library is accessible 24 hours with SBU ID. For more information, visit library.stonybrook.edu.
- Student Health Services and Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will remain closed today and tomorrow (Tuesday). Please use TimelyCare, the free 24/7 virtual care for medical or mental health care. In the event of an emergency, call University Police at (631) 632-3333.
