Robots in Japan: Hunter’s Global Path to Mitsubishi
Meet Hunter Zhong, a Computer Engineering alumni working for Mitsubishi Robotics in Japan.
Hunter never envisioned himself to be working in Japan, let alone living there. Since graduating from Stony Brook in 2024, he works as a robotic engineer for Mitsubishi Electric.
At Stony Brook, his path in robotics became clearer when he worked on an autonomous vehicle using the Robot Operating System (ROS) for his senior design project. Although it started as a class project, it ended up progressing into a career path. Now in Japan, Hunter works on developing industrial robot arm software.
