The PhD program in Technology, Policy and Innovation is designed with an understanding that technology shapes every facet of modern life. At all levels and in all disciplines, careers in industry, government, and education ever more turn on the ability to see and seize the opportunities and address the problems that technology often presents. One of the program's objectives is to cultivate a group of scholars who will drive national leadership in shaping and assessing the future trajectory of technology. Another key objective is to conduct research on policy and design/planning within intersecting socio-technological domains, including energy and environmental systems, as well as engineering and technology workforce policy.
