Dr. Xiao earned her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University and has taught at both The Ohio State University and Columbia University. Her research focuses on the intersection of arts, culture, and technology.

Publications:

“How Authorship Labels Shape Perceptions, Attribution Judgments, and Willingness to Pay for AI-Human Co-Created Music”, published in IEEE International Symposium on Technology and Society.

Dr. Xiao’s latest work investigates how labeling AI/human collaboration in music affects audience perceptions and economic behavior. Findings reveal public preferences for granular authorship disclosure, with implications for AI ethics and creative industries.
